After the transfiguration of Jesus in the Gospel taken from Matthew 17:1-9, the disciples were overcome with fear and fell on their faces. Jesus encourages them to stand up and not be afraid.

Hearing his voice, they raise their eyes, they see no one else but only Jesus.

It is these words that inspired the song 'Only Jesus' that I wish to share with you this week. When you hear or read aloud this part of the Gospel including the words, 'Only Jesus,' what feelings does it stir in your heart? The words give me confidence and the desire to put Christ before other things. They encourage me to invite him into my fears and difficulties.

I hope the song gives you reassurance, courage and healing as you continue your Lenten journey.

Blessings on your week.

Raise

Raise our eyes

Raise our eyes and see

Only Jesus

Jesus

Only Jesus

Raise our eyes and see

Only Jesus

Do

Do not be afraid

Do not be afraid

For I am with you

With you

Always with you

Do not be afraid

I am with you.

Only Jesus lifted up

Only Jesus lights the way

Source of life and source of grace

He is near, behold his face

Raise

Raise our eyes

Raise our eyes and see

Only Jesus

Jesus

Only Jesus

Raise our eyes and see

Only Jesus

(Inspired by the Transfiguration story Mtt 17:1-9)
