Sing Psalms to the Lord

As a musician, 'it does my heart good' to read the opening verse of the Psalm in the liturgy this morning.

Sing psalms to the Lord with the harp

with the sound of music

With trumpets and the sound of the horn

acclaim the King, the Lord.

Whether one is musical or not, we are all called to sing the praises of God simply because God is God and for the many blessings we have received and continue to receive. We lift up our hearts to the one who has created us in love and we can do so at this very moment.
