The Maryknoll Gloria

When I was living at Maryknoll next door to the Mission, in Greenmeadows, Napier in 2012, I composed a new setting to the Gloria entitled, 'Maryknoll Gloria.'

For me the setting is appropriate to share this 5th Sunday of Easter, given the opening line of the Gospel taken from John 13:31-35.

'Now has the Son of Man been glorified, and in him God has been glorified.'

I am reminded of the voice of God during significant times in the life of Jesus, 'This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased, listen to him.'

We too are beloved sons and daughters of God and when we love one another just as Jesus loves us, God's glory is revealed and everyone will see that we are the disciples of his Son.
