Many of you will know that I have been in Suva, Fiji, conducting a silent retreat for our Marist Oceanian Seminarians. The photograph above pictures the Nazareth Prayer Centre where we stayed for 7 days. This was the view I woke up to every morning when it wasn't raining. It rained a lot. Suva is in the background. It was a beautiful time of prayer and union with God. Just as the persons of the Trinity share divine intimacy they share that very life and intimacy with us. May you find some time today to encounter and be aware of God's presence in your life.
I was very grateful to the seminarians who were open and generous in sharing the graces they were receiving during the retreat. Some of their comments made me smile and touched me deeply. "Silence I hate you. I have no one to talk to and yet you lead me to my friend, Jesus."
