The rich man and Lazarus

The rich man in the Gospel today from, Luke 16: 19-31, while he lived, could have bridged the gap between him and Lazarus by being generous with his food and wealth and acknowledging Lazarus as a brother, a real person and invited him beyond the confines of his gates, his walls and barriers. However, after his death we hear that a great gulf had been fixed that could no longer be bridged and the rich man was now the one who found himself outside in agony.
Christ is challenging us to do what we can now to include people rather than exclude them, to allow people their rightful dignity to participate in life and society and to make their unique contribution.
The song I am sharing with you this week is, 'There is no Distance'
Blessings on your week
