All Saints and All Souls

From the Book of the Apocalypse 7:2-9, 9-14
…'I saw a huge number, impossible to count, of people from every nation, race, tribe and language: they were standing in front of the Lamb, dressed in white robes, and holding palms in their hands. They shouted aloud, 'Victory to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!'
Tomorrow we remember all those men women and children who are in heaven including, God willing, members of our own family. We have our favourite canonized saints but tomorrow we
remember All Saints hoping that one day we will join them when it is our time to be called home to our eternal destiny. We can pray through their intercession for the needs of the whole world and for our own personal needs including perseverance in faith, hope and love.
On Monday, 'All Souls Day,' we remember and pray for those who have gone before us and in our Catholic tradition we continue to pray for our beloved dead and for those who have no one to pray for them. For me there is a beautiful connection still with our loved ones and with those who shared this life with us. We pray for them in the hope that they may see God face to face.
There is a longing in them and there is a longing in us.
The song I have chosen for you today is, 'To see you face,' Psalm 26, track 12 from the album, 'Truly Blessed.' Blessings on your week.
