During Lockdown last year I wrote a number of songs including one entitled 'Veni Sancte Spiritus' (Come Holy Spirit). From memory it was on Pentecost Day that we were able to gather in Churches again. The world is still experiencing huge pain and sorrow, the situation in
Israel and Gaza, India and other Covid ravaged places, the political struggles in Myanmar and Hong Kong and of course other places with little media coverage. I remember praying to the Holy Spirit to dry the tears of the world prior to Pentecost last year. How relevant that prayer still is. And not only for the pain and sorrow on the world stage but for our own personal pain and sorrow too.
Holy Spirit
Dry the tears of the world
Turn our sorrow into joy
You are the comforter
Holy Spirit
Strengthen all weary hearts
Give us courage to endure
in these days
Veni Sancte Spiritus
Veni Sancte Spiritus
Veni Sancte Spiritus
Veni Sancte Spiritus
