The 12th of September is for us as Marists our patronal feast day. Because we bear the name of Mary, Marists desire to be like her and follow Jesus as she did. Our constitutions invite us to live and breathe her spirit. The challenge for us is to put this into practise.

While on retreat a couple of years ago, I was invited to bring Mary into my meditation and later on I wrote a song about that experience in prayer. I think it is appropriate to share given our feast day was just yesterday. I have included the YouTube link here for you to watch and to reflect upon.

Mary always leads us to Christ. I hope you find this reflection helpful for your own life and that you enjoy a brief encounter with Mary and her concern for you.

In the light of the Gospel today taken from Matthew 18:21-35 on forgiveness, we could ask Mary to help us let go of any hurt or resentment towards someone we have found difficult to forgive.

Blessings on your week.
