Thankyou Pope Francis

Our thoughts and prayers this week have been focused very much on Pope Francis, his death, his legacy and his funeral. As we celebrate Christ's victory over sin and death this Easter week and his promise of eternal life, the passing of Pope Francis at this time takes on an added poignancy. How moving seeing him, now in hindsight, during his last public appearance, frail and breathless, on the balcony of St Peter's wishing us all, Happy Easter, and his final journey through the crowds of the faithful in St Peter's square offering his reassurance, blessing and humble presence. We have lost a wonderful man of God and of the people, inspirational leader and advocate for the poor and the planet. His voice and courage will be missed but live on in his many appearances, homilies, writings and simple acts of love and kindness. Thankyou Pope Francis. Rest now in the peace of Christ, Jesuit son and Holy Father.
