'For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood live in me and I live in them.'
'For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood live in me and I live in them.'

The song I am sharing with you this week is 'Come into this sacred space.' Here are the lyrics.

Come into this sacred space

Light a candle, take your place

Come, receive the gift of God’s embrace

Whatever weighs upon your heart

We can make a brand new start

Each of us is God’s own precious work of art

With our voices singing

Giving thanks and praise

The Holy Spirit’s moving

In many different ways

Come, breathe in the presence of the gentle breeze

Come, with hearts wide open and fall upon your knees.

There is light with each new dawn

There is hope for those who mourn

Come, lift up the ones whose lives are torn

Come, receive the living bread

Take and eat just as he said

Yearn to see all hungry people fed

With our voices singing………

With the music playing

And our hearts desire

Hear the voices praying

with passion and with fire

Come, breathe in the Spirit of the one who gives

Come, with hands wide open and receive the one who lives

I draw your attention to the lyrics 'Come receive the living bread, take and eat just as he said, yearn to see all hungry people feed and 'Come breathe in the Spirit of the one who gives. Come with hands wide open and receive the one who lives.

What an extraordinary gift Jesus gives to us and yet so simple. When we receive the Eucharist we share in the fullness of Christ, his life, death and Resurrection. We remember him, we give thanks for him and we renew our call to share his life and presence with others who hunger for justice and peace in their lives. He sits down at table with us. Perhaps you can imagine him sitting down with you, your loved ones, both living and dead and those you are particularly mindful of at this time. How do you feel to be present with Jesus in this way? Take some time in silence with him.

Perhaps too we can ask Jesus today and throughout the week to satisfy the hunger in our hearts.

Blessings on your week.
