.....'the sheep hear his voice, one by one he calls his own sheep and leads them out.'
There is an intimacy here on the part of the shepherd who calls his own sheep one by one and invites them to be part of something much greater than themselves. We are reminded that Christ, the Good Shepherd is the one who calls us, leads us out and gives us a sense of belonging and purpose. We belong to him. We are his own.
You may like to listen to 'Go out, Go now' from 'Making Music to his name'. For me this song connects with our mission to follow the one who leads us and given our common baptism and particular vocation in life lead others to recognize the voice of the shepherd in their lives.
Whenever you are inspired, encouraged, moved or even stopped in your tracks recognize and understand that the voice of the Shepherd is speaking with you. How do we respond?
