Rangitoto Island

Last week I posted about my arrival in Wellington and here I am back in Auckland this week.

Today at Mission Bay I am part of a Christian outdoor concert called, 'Praise in the Park.' I will be singing Awesome God and How Great Thou Art. The concert starts at 3:30pm. Because I am singing with the band and choir, 'Awesome God,' I thought it appropriate to share the above picture of Rangitoto, Look to the mountains, look to the sea...…. as the song begins. The island and the Waitemata Harbour will be very much in view while I am singing. Let's hope the weather is like what you see in the above photograph.

At the end of the concert there will be a half an hour of adoration (again outdoors )of the Blessed Sacrament. May Christ truly bless the city, our country and all our people.

The Gospel for this Sunday is taken from Jesus' outdoor Sermon on the Mount, Matthew 5:20-22, 27-28, 33-34, 37. Look to the mountains takes on further significance. We look to Jesus who preached from the the side of a mountain (more like a steep slope) encouraging those who listened to him to go deeper when it came to understanding the requirements of the Mosaic Law. We need to watch ourselves, our attitudes and behaviours right across the board when it comes to the way we treat and show respect to one another. Sometimes we can minimise the things we do.

Blessings on your week

Look to the mountains

Look to the sea

Look in the eyes of a tiny baby

Watch the sun rising

Watch it go down

Glimmering stars in the sky all around

Awesome God

Awesome God

Awesome God

Awesome God
